At Bishop Martin our ‘Be INSPIRED’ Personal Development and Wellbeing strategy is a coherently planned, highly inclusive programme that empowers every child—regardless of their starting point, background, SEND, or socio-economic context—to overcome challenges, discover their unique talents, and thrive as confident, active citizens. This approach is rooted in our Christian Vision "With God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).

Be INSPIRED is reflective of our context and our own monitoring and evaluation. This bespoke approach is refined and responds to the needs of all children and is aligned with our other whole school priorities.

Our strategy encompasses 6 aspects that align with the Core Enrichment Entitlement and the Enrichment Benchmarks from the DfE. The Bishop Martin INSPIRE curriculum is also woven into the strategy to ensure we quip children with knowledge and enthusiasm to develop their understanding of the world

As part of our Inspire curriculum, we provide our children with a really wide set of rich experiences from Forest School in Early Years to residentials to Wales, York, Edinburgh and Stratford Upon Avon. All of our pupils can access residentials annually from Y2 upwards with each residential focussing on a range of learning opportunities from different areas of the curriculum.

We know it is so important to develop children's talents and interests. We celebrate these regularly in our school newsletter and Celebration worships. We hold our own talent show in the summer term to give pupils the chance to share their various skills and also develop these through our extra-curricular clubs.

Each element of our Be INSPIRED strategy supports us to develop children who are confident, resilient and celebrate difference. Through our teaching of Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural across curriculum subjects and day to day school life, our children have a sense of fascination and creativity, moral understanding, and appreciation of diverse cultural heritage. They have a strong sense of social responsibility and global awareness.

    Residentials

As part of our plan 'Be INSPIRED' strategy for this academic year, we have arranged educational residentials linked to our INSPIRE curriculum for the children in each class from Year 2 - Year 6. Please visit our INSPIRE Curriculum Residentials page for more information.
