Hello and welcome to the Year 5 class page!
This year we have SO many fun and interesting learning experiences planned for you. In this half-term's Science topic, we will be learning all about Earth and Space and there will be many fun learning opportunities for us. In RE, we will be exploring Christmas focusing specifically on the gospels of Matthew and Luke. In History, we will begin to delve into Anglo-Saxon Britain which marks the start of some extremely exciting units.
We will continue to study one main book for our English lessons but we will also be reading a wide variety of other texts - both fiction and non-fiction - from across our curriculum to help strengthen our understanding in a range of topics.
Throughout this half-term, Year 5 will be having gymnastics on a Tuesday and swimming on Wednesdays. You will therefore need your PE kit on both days.
Homework is provided on Century AI and will be given every Friday (due the following Tuesday). Weekly spellings are set on Spelling Shed. TTRS can also be accessed to support knowledge of times tables. Log in details for all will be found in your child's reading record.
