Bishop Martin CE Primary School is an inclusive school. In December 2023, we were awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark's 'Inclusive School Award' stating how 'pupils, parents, staff and school leaders all have a shared understanding that every single person is important and that they all have a responsibility to make our world the best it can be be. At Bishop Martin CE Primary School, we believe that diversity is a strength, which should be respected and celebrated by all those who learn, teach and visit here. Our school is a Church of England Primary School, however we welcome children from all backgrounds, abilities, races and religions.
Our school population evidences the inclusive nature of our school.
Our school has 207 pupils on roll in December 2023
Gender - Boys = 96 Girls = 113
Ethnicities – White British, Chinese, Indian, White, White and Black African, White and Asian and Black African, Greek.
Languages spoken at home – English, Turkish, Chinese, Serbian (Croatian, Bosnian), Igbo, Greek, Tamil, Thai and Russian
Religion and beliefs – Although the majority of our children are from a Church of England or Methodist background (49%) , we also have pupils who are Catholic, Christian, and others identified as other or no Religious beliefs.
