    • School Uniform

    Here is a summary of the Bishop Martin CE Primary School uniform. In Autumn term 1 children can wear the summer or winter uniform.

    Uniform

    Winter Uniform:

    • White blouse or shirt
    • Purple and silver striped school tie
    • Grey skirt/pinafore skirt or grey school trousers
    • Badged purple cardigan or pullover
    • White or grey socks or grey or black tights.
    • Sensible flat black shoes.

    Summer Uniform:

    • Purple and white check or striped dress
    • Grey shorts or skirt
    • White school badged polo shirt
    • White socks
    • Badged purple school cardigan or pullover
    • Sensible black shoes not sandals
    • Purple school cap with badge (optional)

    All children need a reading bag to carry their books to and from school please.

    Footwear

    Children are expected to wear sensible, black shoes with their school uniform. Trainers are permitted for PE days.

    Jewellery and Make up

    Children are not allowed to wear any jewellery except for watches and plain silver or gold stud earrings for health and safety reasons. Make up and nail varnish are not allowed.

    Long hair (below the chin) must be tied up with a bobble. We would encourage only purple and grey hair accessories.

    Religious Clothing / Ceremonial Dress

    Some religions and beliefs require their members to conform to a specific dress code. The school does not discriminate against people who hold any religion or belief; however, the school does have to weigh the needs and rights of individual pupils against the health and safety concerns of the entire school community.

    Some religions ask that children wear head coverings. Whether parents wish their child to wear a head covering in school for religious purposes is their choice, but any headcovering must be in keeping with the uniform requirements stipulated by the school. Specifically this means that schools can specify the colour of any headcovering.  Bishop Martin CE Primary School expects that any head covering is black in colour.

    Please note, a child’s eyes nose and mouth must be visible to school staff at all times.

    Parents’/carers’ concerns and requests regarding religious clothing will be dealt with on a case-by case basis by the Head Teacher and Local Governing Body.

    PE Kit

    Nike PE kit (we introduced this kit so that children have a kit that is designed for playing sports whatever the weather)

    • Purple badged top
    • Black shorts
    • Black badged tracksuit (optional)

    School is placing orders half termly for the PE kit if you wish to order the PE kit via school to save on postage please email our admin via d.pearce@ldst.org.uk. Orders will then be placed the first week (Friday) of each half term.

    Please note that for Reception class initially we suggest that you just buy the Nike PE and Shorts for PE lessons.
