Philosophy for Children (P4C)

Philosophy for Children (P4C) is a teaching and learning approach based on enquiry which allows pupils to develop their own philsophical questions. Children can develop a range of thinking skills and learn effective communication particularly finding the right way to disagree with others.  P4C has no right or wrong answer but gives us all a chance to share what we think based on a stimulus (a video, story, piece art etc).  At Bishop Martin we use P4C in all areas of the curriculum and often use the skills from P4C in our Wondering Wednesday (Picture News) sessions.

Below are some of our favourite resources and stimuli, you can use these at home to practise your thinking skills.
